About the Organisation:
This organization is a global manufacturer of highly engineered valve and pipeline products. It is through continuously develops precision technologies to improve customer's ability to control the flow of the world's natural resources, from sub-sea to land, and in severe environments
Key Responsibilities:
· manage the overall relationship with Suppliers & develop road map with strategic suppliers
· negotiate & Implement Long term agreement with strategic suppliers
· drive and ensure suppliers are held accountable for meeting continuous improvement initiatives both from a strategic and tactical perspective including lead time reduction, flexibility to schedules, quality improvement, inventory reduction (entire supply chain) and cost reduction on year over year basis
· develop baseline for commodity & inflation forecasts for castings commodity
· ensure Supplier strategy has the capacity to enable continuity of supply and ability to provide required technical capability
· evaluate & Select new suppliers, as required
· support new Product launch, Supplier Transitions & Engineering Change Management
· develop appropriate supplier strategies to leverage global volume on common parts
· work with internal customer to Identify opportunities for regional & LCC sourcing, and additional cost savings
· understand and monitor current commodity market conditions / trends, developing technologies, supply chain capacity / capability, product knowledge, customer requirements and supply / demand challenges
· establish a strong network and foster collaboration with customers, suppliers, key stakeholders, and category team members
Key Requirements:
· knowledge of or hands-on experience in casting manufacturing processes including pattern making, die design, process control, product design standards, and quality systems. Strong knowledge of casting solidification science and casting defect formation mechanisms. Understands product requirements and offers innovative solutions
· over five years’ sourcing / purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment with some MRP knowledge and inventory replenishment strategies
· need to communicate effectively with suppliers, engineers, manufacturing personnel and peers in a dynamic team environment
· takes leadership role in problem solving, cost reductions, and process improvement initiatives
· demonstrated success with cost reductions
· ability to read technical drawings
· high ethical standards
· excellent written, verbal, analytical, negotiating and interpersonal skills
